BallenIsles Excels in Platinum Rankings

Over the last decade, BallenIsles Country Club, Inc. Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has outpaced more than 6,000 clubs nationally in its rise in the Platinum Club rankings. No other club in the nation exceeds BallenIsles in your club advances in excellence, says John R. Sibbald, publisher of the Club Leaders Forum that conducts Platinum Club surveys every three years among club presidents and managers. Continues Sibbald, This survey, beginning in 1997, is America’s only instrument by which clubs can measure themselves against others.

In the first year of rankings, BallenIsles Country Club was not among the top 100. In 2000, BallenIsles made the Platinum Club list at 67; in 2003 BallenIsles advanced to 51; and in 2006, BallenIsles leaped into the top tier of the top 100 premier Platinum Club Country Clubs, and currently ranks as the 17th most highly regarded country club in America. Perhaps more importantly, BallenIsles now also ranks as the fifth most highly thought of residential club community in America.

The 6,000 club managers and club presidents who are surveyed for their views on Platinum excellence are asked to consider five components of a private club: (1) quality of membership, (2) tradition and culture, (3) amenities, (4) governance, and (5) quality of management and staff.

Other Florida clubs achieving Platinum Club rankings include: Boca West Country Club, Boca Raton #7; John’s Island Club, Vero Beach #8; Islesworth Golf & Country Club, Windermere #14; and Ocean Reef Club, Key Largo #16. Behind BallenIsles Country Club are The Club at Admiral’s Cove, Jupiter #24; Jupiter Island Club, Hobe Sound #26; and Frenchman’s Creek Country Club, Palm Beach Gardens #36.

BallenIsles Country Club’s pedigree began in 1963 when John D. MacArthur contracted with the Professional Golf Association to establish a golf headquarters in Florida. The P.G.A was located for ten years on the golf courses which became BallenIsles. The P.G.A. qualifying school, PGA Seniors Championships, and the World Club were held on these courses. Today, club members and their guests of all skill levels enjoy the three 18 hole championship golf courses with competitive and recreational play.
